Investment Thesis

Novo Nordisk is expanding manufacturing capacity to address Wegovy and Ozempic supply shortages. Novo Holdings acquired Catalent for $16.5B (completed December 2024), with Novo Nordisk taking three fill-finish facilities for $11B: Bloomington, Indiana (USA), Anagni (Italy), and Brussels (Belgium). U.S.-specific investments include a $4.1B expansion in Johnston County, North Carolina (announced June 2024), the largest life sciences investment in NC history. Production of semaglutide-based GLP-1 drugs is ramping throughout 2024-2025. Novo Nordisk is the world's largest maker of diabetes and obesity medications with 2,500+ NC employees.
